Welcome to my portfolio.

I'm Karolina.

Creative designer and project manager with 10 years of experience in digital design, UI/UX, communications and marketing.

I’m proud of making things better and making things happen. I’m driven and resourceful.

Check out my CV for more information about my work experience and education.

I love art, design, digital technologies and all the sparks in between.

Photography is more than a hobby for me – it’s how I explore and notice what many overlook.

Getting my hands busy drawing, painting, seaweed pressing, and embroidering is how I spend some of my free time.  Have a look at my arty alter ego, Anulka.

Water is my happy place. I swim all year round, enjoy stand-up paddle boarding (occasionally working for Discover SUP) and recently started learning to sail at Howth Yacht Club.

Spending time out in nature is where I rest the most. The weather – the clouds, the light and the drama in the skies – holds my constant fascination. So is marine wildlife – I have a soft spot for jellyfish, seagulls, and rockpool creatures.

Here are some of my projects.

Client: National Sculpture Factory, Cork

Designs for Noho’s Christmas communications  (social media and email marketing). It incorporates the company’s logo within the words ‘Nollaig shona’ (‘Happy Christmas’ in Irish) and “ho ho ho”.

Howth cards

Greeting cards

Illustration | drawing

The Howth card collection features my original drawings of local landmarks: “Friendly Harbour Seal and Ireland’s Eye”, “Baily Lighthouse View, Howth Summit”, “Howth Harbour Lighthouse, 1817”, and “Martello Tower Sutton, 1804”.

Wall art

Watercolour paintings and fine art prints

“Flock” is a collection of watercolour paintings of Irish coastal birds. I meticulously studied the birds in order to capture their incredible details and beauty.

Seaweed pressings

Wall art

Seaweed pressings on paper

The Hidden Seaweed Garden is a unique collection of framed seaweed pressings from around Ireland’s coastline. Each seaweed specimen is carefully collected (not harvested) and pressed by hand on high-quality paper. It includes a handwritten note including English and Latin specimen names and their collection location/date.

Visual diary

I started this personal photography project on Instagram almost ten years ago. I find inspiration everywhere and love it when the subjects, colours and patterns come together in threes.

All my Instagram photos are taken on an iPhone camera only – from the iPhone 4S in 2011 to the iPhone 15Pro nowadays.

Have a look here.
